Madison Velazquez is a student at Transylvania University, where she is pursuing her long-term goal of a career in the legal profession. She approaches leadership with resilience, responsibility, and a deep commitment to justice, viewing it as a calling to serve others in moments when care, clarity, and accountability matter most.
At Transylvania, Madison has distinguished herself as both a scholar and campus leader, maintaining a 4.0 GPA while actively involved in the Student Government Association, the Pre-Law Society, and the Transylvania Environmental Action League. Beyond campus, she has gained extensive professional experience through legal internships with two law firms, earning praise for her professionalism, initiative, and ability to navigate complex responsibilities. She also completed a summer internship with the Honorable Ana C. Reyes, United States District Judge for the District of Columbia.
Madison believes leadership is rooted in advocacy and empowerment. As she explains, "Leadership is often misconstrued as authority, but I see it as empowerment and advocacy." She hopes to use her legal education and future career to improve how families, and especially children, experience the legal system, ensuring that justice is both accessible and compassionate.
