The Phillips University Legacy Foundation was established to honor the enduring legacy of Phillips University while investing in future generations of students and leaders. Inspired by the university’s long tradition of academic excellence, leadership, service, and community, the Foundation works to ensure that the values that defined Phillips for more than 90 years continue to make a difference today.

Since 2001, we have connected the legacy of Phillips University with the opportunities and challenges facing today’s students, creating pathways for leadership development, educational access, and meaningful community impact.

At the Phillips University Legacy Foundation, we invest in promising students through the Phillips Scholar Program, which combines renewable scholarships, leadership development, mentorship, service opportunities, and a supportive community of peers and alumni.

More than a scholarship program, the Phillips Scholar experience is designed to help students discover their purpose, develop their leadership potential, and create positive change wherever life takes them. Today, Phillips Scholars attend colleges and universities across the country, carrying forward a tradition of learning, service, and leadership that began with Phillips University and continues through their impact.

Our University

Nestled in Enid, Oklahoma, this private university related to the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) left an indelible mark on education and community. Founded in 1907 and affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Phillips University educated generations of students who went on to serve as educators, lawyers, ministers, business leaders, public servants, community advocates, and changemakers.

Although the university closed in 1998, its impact continues through the lives of its alumni and through the work of the Phillips University Legacy Foundation. Today, we preserve and celebrate that legacy while ensuring that future generations of students continue to benefit from the values and educational tradition that made Phillips University so special.
