Kyler Heilman recently graduated from Van Alstyne High School and is beginning his freshman year at Texas Christian University, where he is pursuing majors in Psychology and Religion. Throughout high school, Kyler was actively involved in athletics, playing basketball for four years, participating in Cross Country during his freshman through junior years, and competing in Track & Field during his junior year.

Outside of academics and sports, Kyler has been deeply engaged in leadership and service through his local church. He held several positions on both the Youth Ministry Council (YMC) and Regional Youth Ministry Council (RYMC), helping to plan, organize, and lead church camps for students his age. Additionally, Kyler participates in Seek Camp, a unique camp experience designed for individuals with disabilities to enjoy a Christ-centered camping community. This experience has helped shape a strong sense of purpose in Kyler and strengthened his commitment to creating environments of inclusion where every person feels valued and supported.

As he begins college, Kyler looks forward to exploring the connections between psychology, faith, service, and leadership. His long-term goal is to use his education to positively impact the lives of others. Following graduation, he hopes to establish an organization that provides services and support for individuals with special needs while also helping others better understand the importance of service, compassion, inclusion, and social justice.

Through his academic studies, church leadership, and service experiences, Kyler is preparing to become a compassionate leader who advocates for others and works to build communities where all people are welcomed, respected, and empowered to thrive.
