Emily James 4th Year Scholar

Emily is a senior at Texas Christian University (TCU) fall of 2025, where her plan is to continue pursuing a major in Modern Dance, with a minor in Social Work. Before college, Emily was born in China and was adopted at the age of three, where she then moved to the United States to go through grade school in Abilene and finish up graduating from Central High School in San Angelo, Texas. She has been dancing for 17 years and was involved greatly in her home studio, facilitating dance classes and preparing for shows throughout show seasons. At TCU, she’s active in Disciples on Campus, Chi Tau Epsilon; and TCU honor’s college. Being a part of these organizations and communities, Emily is continuing to learn critically, work towards service and justice, to become an ethical and inclusive leader, all while welcoming those to an open table. As for the near future, she is preparing for a dance intensive in Mezzano Italy, dancing in the Trentino Music Festival. She will also be in her third year interning with Be The Neighbor, a nonprofit whihc organizes educational and service-based trips across the U.S.
