Aly is a rising junior at Chapman University pursuing a degree in Anthropology with a double minor in both Spanish and Sociology. Born in South Africa and raised in South Africa and Mozambique, Aly moved to Indiana to attend school, graduating in 2023 with an IB diploma. While there, she was active in her Spanish Honor Society, Feminist Club, Recycling and Environmental Club, and Young Democrats Club. Aly was involved as a flutist in the top band and became certified as bilingual during her time at North Central, having spent the summer between her junior and senior years living in Spain in an Indiana University-sponsored Spanish immersion program.
During her freshman and sophomore year at Chapman University, she has been deeply involved in Disciples on Campus, becoming the Social Events Chair in Spring 2024 and now President for Spring and Fall 2025. She is also involved with the Feminist Club as well as the Outdoors Club. Outside of academics, Aly works part-time at a local thrift store, Full Circle, in downtown Orange. Aly is passionate about community outreach and is looking forward to her internship with Kentucky Refugees this summer. Aly hopes to continue her academic pursuits as well and become more involved in the community, building upon her skills to become a social worker.
