The PU Book Collection

The “Phillips University’s First Fifty Years” series chronicles the institution’s journey from its founding in 1906 to its golden anniversary in 1956.

The first volume, “The Early Days of Phillips University,” explores the vision of its founders and the initial challenges and successes. The second volume, “The Growth and Expansion,” details the university’s infrastructural and academic growth, highlighting significant milestones and key contributors. The final volume, “The Period of Greatest Advance,” showcases the university’s major academic and infrastructural achievements, reflecting on its impact on higher education and the cultural and social changes within the community.

Also available is In Reverence We Stand. As a richly illustrated tribute to the legacy of Phillips University and authored by Bob Burke and Kenny A. Franks, the book captures the university’s founding in 1907, its evolution through the 20th century, and its enduring impact on students, faculty, and the broader community.

Finally, we are honored to respond to alumni requests to make available Memories of Science Camp Written by Cecil R. Williams. It recounts the adventurous and often humorous history of Phillips University’s summer science program in the Colorado Rockies.  With vivid anecdotes about students, faculty, and the logistical feats of building and sustaining the camp, it offers a heartfelt look at experiential education, community, and the spirit of discovery.
