Hometown: Austin, Texas
Tatum was born and raised in Austin, Texas, where she attends James Bowie High School and will be attending Texas Christian University in the fall. She plans to double major in Speech Pathology and Education and was accepted to TCU’s John V. Roach Honors College. Tatum has been on the Bowie cheer team for the past three years, where she received the All-American Cheerleading award in 2023, held the position of co-social coordinator, and hopes to cheer for TCU. In addition, Tatum has been an active member of the National Charity League for the past six years. She earned the AmeriCorps Gold President’s Volunteer Service Award in 2024 and the AmeriCorps Silver President’s Volunteer Service Award in 2023. Tatum has also been involved with the National Honor Society and loves participating in philanthropic projects. She has been a regular member of Bowie Young Life and enjoys her current role as a Wyldlife leader for current 8th grade students.
Tatum is extremely eager to make a difference in the world after graduation by working with children with special needs to help mitigate speech disabilities, with a focus on stutter and impediments. As a person who has navigated her own speech challenges, Tatum will utilize her personal experiences and education to make a difference in the lives of others who struggle similarly.
