Ruth Berta is a Master’s of Divinity student at Phillips Theological Seminary with plans to be ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Ruth holds a Bachelor’s in Social Work from Messiah University (formerly Messiah College) and a Master’s in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. Ruth lives in Charlottesville, Virginia with her spouse and dog where she currently works full-time as a hospice social worker, part-time as a ministry assistant at Park Street Christian Church, and maintains a full course load.
Ruth has a passion for working with people toward spiritual and emotional wellness, especially during times of stress. She is dedicated to offering a compassionate listening ear and helping people understand how unjust systems and life circumstances make life more challenging.
When not with patients and their families, at church, or at her desk studying, you can usually find Ruth in her local hot yoga studio, finding her calm and sweating off the demands of the day.
