Our Legacy

The Phillips University Legacy Foundation was born from a dream—to honor the legacy of Phillips University while transforming the world. Shortly after the university closed its doors, we embarked on a mission: to develop leaders who would make a lasting impact. Since 2004, we’ve been providing life-changing scholarships and leadership opportunities to students, empowering them to create positive change.

Our Work

At the Legacy Foundation, our mission is clear: develop leaders who will transform the world. We believe one of the strongest ways to do so is to make private liberal arts education, much that that which was experienced at Phillips University, accessible, affordable, and transformative for the next generation of leaders.

These students, known as PU Legacy Scholars, not only receive significant scholarship support of up to $9500 annually but also engage in leadership development programs and community building that makes a difference.  Check out our most recent impact report to see our work in action.

Our People

At the Phillips University Legacy Foundation, we’re a close-knit community with a shared purpose. Our dedicated Board of Directors guides our mission, ensuring that the legacy of Phillips University continues to inspire. Behind the scenes, our hardworking team weaves together scholarships and opportunities for our exceptional Legacy Scholars. These scholars, along with our accomplished Legacy Scholar Alumni, carry forward the spirit of knowledge, resilience, and service. Together, we honor the past, embrace the present, and shape the future

Our University

Nestled in Enid, Oklahoma, this private university related to the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) left an indelible mark on education and community. Founded in 1907 as Oklahoma Christian University, it stood as a beacon of knowledge and growth. The campus, spanning 40 acres, hosted vibrant events like the Enid-Phillips Symphony Orchestra performances and the Tri-State Music Festival. Its legacy extends beyond academics: Phillips University produced leaders, visionaries, and change-makers. Today, the Legacy Foundation seeks to tell the PU story, honor its legacy, and support the community of over 7800 living alumni.
