D.O.D 12/17/2000 - Dean Boles was born in Enid to Grace A. and Charles C. Boles and died Sunday, December 17, 2000, at Graham, Texas. He was 78. He graduated from Enid High School in 1940 and attended Phillips University before entering the Army Air Corps in 1941. He served in the armed forces during World War II for four years and earned the rank of sergeant. After the war, he returned to Enid with his wife, Patricia, and worked with his father in the family dry goods business, as well as the family farm southwest of Enid. In the early 1960s, the family moved to Garland, Texas. He worked for American National Insurance Company in the Dallas area before moving to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1968. He was a real estate agent and broker and was co-owner of Boles-Robertson Real Estate Agency, retiring in 1980. They moved to Montrose, Colorado in 1980 and to Graham in 1999. He was a lifelong member of Disciples of Christ Church and served as elder and deacon. He also was a member of Motrose Christian Church. They served as assistant state directors of Good Sam Travel Club and were instrumental in founding several chapters throughout the state of Colorado. Surviving are his stepmother, Vivian Boles of Enid; one daughter, Juday Walls of Graham; one son, David of Frisco, Texas; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and one grandson. | |
