D.O.D 09/06/2000 - Elizabeth S. (Jewell) Austin was born October 26, 1915, at Geronimo to Henry Calvin and Minnie Lee McClure Jewell and died Wednesday, September 6, 2000, at her home in Stillwater. She attended elementary schools in Oklahoma and Kansas and graduated from Enid High School in 1933. She took courses at Phillips University. She married Dee C. Austin November 22, 1933, at Enid. She worked at Enid Public Library and later at Phillips Seminary Library until she retired. She was a member of University Place Christian Church. She taught both youth and adult Sunday School classes. Surviving are one daughter, Eileen Stair of Stillwater; two sisters, Delphine Jewell of Stillwater and Betty Modglin of Paw Paw, Illinois; a brother, Al Jewell of Pahrump, Nevada; and three grandsons. She was preceded in death by a son. | |
