|Sneed, Pauline S. (Cassel)||BA 1954|
D.O.D 07/06/2014 - Pauline Sneed, of Tucker, Georgia, was born October 27, 1933 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Lark & Louise Gunn Cassel, Polly graduated from Putnam City High School in 1950 and went on to attend Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma, obtaining a BA in Biology in 1954.
While working as a secretary and photographer's assistant at UMKC Dental School, Polly met her future husband of 59 years, Charles (Don) Sneed. They married June 19, 1955. She dedicated herself to being a homemaker, wife, and mother and spent the next 20 years traveling the country with Don as he served in the US Public Health Service. Although she lived many places, some of her favorites were New Orleans, Louisiana and Granbury, Texas, where they retired.
Polly's passions included her church, her family, volunteering at the local hospital, keeping up with their many friends across the country, and traveling. She was gifted in hospitality, and her family and friends especially enjoyed her amazing pecan pralines and seafood gumbo.
Pauline had four children: Brenda (Dennis) Cox, Eric (Sandra) Sneed, Gary (Leslie) Sneed, Brian (Deb) Sneed. She died July 6, 2014 from Alzheimer’s disease.
