|Smith, Corinne H. (Minton)||1938|
D.O.D 04/08/2013 - Corinne Smith was born to Howard and Corinne (Hames) Minton on May 7, 1916, near Timberlake, South Dakota.
She graduated from Timberlake High School in 1934. The family moved to Oklahoma, and Corinne continued her education at Phillips University with the class of 1938 and Northwestern University, where she earned her teaching certificate.
She taught in the rural schools of Science Hall School near Marshall, Enterprise School, and Valley Forge School near Hunter.
On May 12, 1940, Corinne married Cecil P. Smith. They farmed in the Hunter and Billings area. After Cecilís death in 1970, she continued to farm and worked as a tax practitioner for 21 years in Garber and Lamont.
Corinne was a longtime member of Hunter Oklahoma Christian Church, teaching Sunday school to various ages for over 30 years. She was also active in the Christian Womenís Fellowship and Merry Matrons Club.
Corinne had four children: Bruce Smith, Howard Smith, Mary Lassiter, and Carl Smith.
She died April 8, 2013.
