D.O.D 07/02/2012 - Willa Jean Schneider, of Enid, was born November 21, 1933, in Enid, Oklahoma, the daughter of E.B. Sr. and Pearl (Chatt) Mitchell. She was the youngest of five children. “Billie” earned a B.S. from Phillips in 1959 and a M.Ed. degree in 1968. She married Henry O. Schneider Jr. June 4, 1955. They spent their early years of marriage traveling with the military, and eventually resided back in Enid. She was a teacher and later a principal at Garfield Elementary school in Enid. After retiring from the school systems, they opened a gift shop in Enid. After the closing of the store Willa was still very involved in the community. After Henry’s death Billie married again to a Mr. Ake. She had two sons, Stephen Schneider and Justin Schneider. She died July 2, 2012. | |
