D.O.D 05/18/2012 - Dick Allen Escue was born July 27, 1926, in Springfield, Missouri, to Rex T. and Irene (Crenshaw) Escue. He grew up in Tulsa and moved to Enid at age 14. Dick graduated from Enid High School with the class of 1944. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and following his discharge he returned to Enid. Dick attended college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University and Phillips University from 1946 to 1949. He worked for Longbell Lumber and Ray Cleveland before purchasing Enid Carpet & Tile. He owned and operated Enid Carpet & Tile until his retirement. Dick enjoyed fishing. He had four children: Sheroyn Reifel, Allen Escue, Wayne Escue, and Lavon Henry. | |
