D.O.D 01/10/2012 - Dale Edgar Lewis, 73, died Tuesday, January 10, 2012, Tulsa, OK. Dale was born July 31, 1938, Wetumka, OK, to Benjamin Harden and Bertha Pink (Gammill) Lewis. He was a 1957 graduate of Central High School. He continued his education by receiving his Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Phillips University, in Vocal Music. During college and summers Dale served as music minister, director and performer at many small town churches in the area. Dale joined the family business: Ben Lewis & Sons Schwinn Bicycles & Lawnmowers. They were instrumental in Tulsa’s River Trails project. Dale is survived by his wife: Sarah E. “Sally” Lewis. Son: Sean, his wife Nicole, Owasso, OK. Son: Kevin, Tulsa, OK. Grandchildren: Kyle Michael, Sarah Rose, Micah Grant, Faith Nicole, Trace Anthony and Benjamin Thomas Lewis. 1 sister: Jean Tully, 2 brothers: Bud Lewis, his wife Cathy and Carl Lewis. And of course, Dale’s 2 best friends: Harley and Cody. Service 2 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2012, Mason Chapel, Asbury UMC. Family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, January 13, 2012, Moore’s Southlawn Chapel, 9350 East 51st Street. | |
