D.O.D 11/02/2011 - Claudia Kay Schmitt was born August 23, 1948, in Enid to Claude H. and Virginia (Wheeler) Galusha and died Tuesday, November 2, 2011, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, following a short but valiant battle with cancer. She graduated from Enid High School in 1966, and received her BA and an MA in English and education from Phillips University. She taught in the Bixby, Oklahoma school district for 25 years and the Mt. Ida, Arkansas, school district for six years. She retired from teaching in May, 2010. Claudia married Thomas A. Schmitt June 1, 1981, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. To this union a son, Christopher Todd, was born. Claudia and her family made their home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, for many years, then in Mt. Ida, Arkansas, for the last seven years. Claudia died November 2, 2011. | |
